From 15 to 18 June 2020 inclusive, Rotterdam will host the 30th edition of the leading IFAMA conference. This was announced on Wednesday 26 June during the IFAMA 2019 in Hangzhou. The four-day event is devoted entirely to current and future challenges facing the food sector. It covers every angle: from production to processing and from logistics to research. The conference will be held in De Doelen in Rotterdam.
From logistic hubs to emerging food markets
IFAMA 2020 will attract food professionals from all over the world: entrepreneurs, scientists, students, policy-makers and other stakeholders from the food sector. The themes addressed at IFAMA 2020 will explore the greatest challenges in more detail, and will link theory and practice. The following themes are key:
- The resilience of (emerging) food markets;
- Global distribution networks and logistic hubs;
- Interaction between stakeholders within and between food clusters;
- Smarter choices for improved health and sustainability.
Rotterdam Food Cluster and IFAMA
The organisation of the conference is a collaboration involving the Rotterdam Food Cluster, Wageningen University & Research, Inholland University of Applied Sciences, Centre for Sustainability (the universities of Leiden, Delft and Erasmus) and IFAMA. IFAMA (International Food and Agribusiness Management Association) puts academics, students, entrepreneurs, policy-makers and representatives of NGOs in touch regarding the challenges facing the food sector.
